Job Description

This position is for the Entertainment Division, the leader in theme park entertainment ride development and show action equipment, which serves customers in the amusement industry through the design of prototypical and moderately sized production lots of equipment.

The Quality Control Manager develops inspection planning and manages inspection resources to verify product quality of goods received and manufactured and fabrications in the Hanover facilities. Success in this function requires a good understanding of manufacturing and assembly practices plus schedule to assure timely verifications.  This function needs to communicate results and status to personnel in other departments associated with Hanover Manufacturing and Assembly.

This function will implement the Quality work instructions found in the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and when warranted, recommend changes to these instructions.  This is a “Hands-on” supervisory position responsible for accurate and timely inspections to support both Manufacturing and Assembly and accumulation of records to demonstrate contract compliance.

- Directly supervise the inspection staff in the Hanover Maryland facilities
- Develop inspection planning for use by the inspection staff in verifying product compliance to contract requirements.
- Manage Quality Control staffing levels to insure timely and accurate inspection performance and documentation to support Quality specifications, requirements and production schedule.
- Developing Quality Control metrics to be used to improve departmental performance.
- Mange the Non-conforming product process, including coordination with SCM staff for supplier communications and returns.
- Implement the requirements of Project Quality Assurance Plans developed by the QA Assurance Manager and/or Program Manager.
- Perform Quality Audits as assigned by the QA Assurance Manager and or SCM Manager to verify implementation of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- Manage the accumulation of Quality Records to demonstrate compliance to customer contract requirements.
- Assure the quality of products, raw / in-process materials to maximize the use of resources to meet required specifications.
- Validates quality processes by establishing product specifications and quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification.
Position Requirements
Skills / Industry Qualifications Required:Education:

- Associates degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Formal education in QA/QC

Experience:

- Ten years Quality Control experience in manufacturing (fabrication, precise machining and assembly) environment, with at least 5 years experience at a QA/QC Management or supervisory position.
- Experience of working with a variety of quality requirements; i.e. Engineer to order, Commercial, Government and Build to print.

Knowledge:

- Welding requirements of AWS and other national standards.
- Geometrical tolerance system.
- Nondestructive Examination methods.
- Communications methods.
- ISO9001
- Audit techniques.
- Quality Data Analysis techniques.
- Inspection techniques
- Inspection planning techniques
- Sampling inspection   
- Other Pre-requisites:

The candidate will have to perform in an ISO-9001 rated company in a rapidly changing and demanding atmosphere
