JOB SUMMARY:
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives is a unique law enforcement agency in the United States Department of Justice that prevents, detects and responds to acts of terrorism and violent crime. We investigate and prosecute terrorist acts and violent crimes that involve explosives, arson and firearms; repeat and violent offenders; criminal gangs; the illegal use and trafficking of firearms and explosives; arson; and the illegal diversion of alcohol and tobacco products. We partner with communities, industry, law enforcement and public safety agencies to safeguard the public we serve through information sharing, training, research and technology.
This position is located in a field division office and/or field office. The incumbent of this position performs investigative research and analytical functions in support of the Bureau's law enforcement or regulatory mission.
Subject to a 5-year periodic investigation.
Travel and relocation expenses are not authorized and will not be paid.
You may select a maximum of 3 locations for which you will accept employment.
The salary reflected in this announcement does not include locality pay and will differ based on the locations selected.

Back to top- Provide vital investigative or inspection support toward the overall investigative/regulatory mission by conducting trend analysis, statistical studies, and special projects involving voluminous amounts of data
- Use results of analyses to identify investigative leads and/or regulatory investigations or inspections
- Summarize reports and extract essential information received from the intelligence community
- Develop supplemental visuals such as graphs and charts for use in trials and hearings
- Maintain and develop a wide range of contacts and sources
- Conduct analytical research on firearms, explosives, arson, alcohol and tobacco related data and generate reports
