RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Spice Blender position exists to blend spices in an accurate and timely manner to support daily operations on the production line.  Under the general supervision of the Production Manager, this individual must be able to remain fully attentive of their work surroundings while working at a steady pace.  They must be able to multitask and adapt to various work assignments, must keep their work area clean and follow all safety and Good Manufacturing guidelines.  In addition, individuals must work well with others in a supportive team environment in order to meet production quality and quantity standards, while reducing waste and rework and minimizing downtime.  Major Duties and/or Responsibilities:
·         Work with co-workers in the Blending area to ensure production needs are met by accurately blending raw materials using product batch sheets and following all quality standards.
·         Verify weights from Stage 1 process and add ingredients during Stage 2 process that have been pre-staged by the Material Handler.
·         Perform visual checks to ensure that the blended product contains no lumps or other inconsistencies and perform corrective actions such as sifting if problems are detected.
·         Obtain quality control samples from blended product.
·         Accurately completes Stage 2 paperwork, drum label and blending/allergen log.
·         Work with co-workers in the blending room to insure the effective operation of the blending room to meet production needs, quality standards and help minimize downtime and practice waste control.
·         Perform daily housekeeping duties in the work area and occasional housekeeping duties in the plant or warehouse areas including sweeping, vacuuming, collecting trash, washing walls and equipment.
·         Operate equipment in a safe manner and ensure the equipment is in good working order by checking and reporting equipment problems.
·         Follow all safety and Good Manufacturing guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
·         High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
·         Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds on a consistent daily basis
·         Must have the ability to read, write and perform simple math calculations in order to accurately measure amounts of ingredients.
·         Must be able to communicate effectively and work well with others.
·         Must be able to work in a dusty environment with strong odors.
·         Must be able to work overtime on a frequent basis and on weekends as required by scheduling/production demands.
·         Must be able to climb stairs and bend and stoop.
