Job Description
E Source is seeking a Research Associate to provide engaging, high-quality, research content on energy-efficient end-use technologies. The audience is E Source members, consisting of more than 100 utilities across North America and Fortune 1000 end-user companies, as well as building energy industry professionals. These member organizations depend on E Source for unbiased, independent analysis of retail energy markets, services, and technologies. We serve as a high-value filter of the torrent of information on developments in the energy services marketplace, sorting through the hype and providing our clients with concise strategic insights and in-depth technology assessments. You will gather research from primary and secondary sources--including phone interviews, Internet searches, and in-depth reading--and then critically analyze the information to create information products. The topics you will cover include, but are not limited to, load management, demand response, distributed generation, and smart grid technologies. The ideal candidate will have a passionate interest in the energy industry and possess exceptional analytical skills and writing abilities. Key Areas of Responsibility: - Identify quality information resources - Provide critical analysis that distinguishes between essential and peripheral information and between fact and marketing fiction - Understand energy markets and energy end-use technologies - Translate complex technical information into deliverables that are easy for our audience to understand - Create deliverables such as e-mail answers to customers' technology-related questions, short written articles, technical briefs, and blog posts - Present research findings at conferences and via live web conferences - Adhere to E Source quality standards, budget, and timeliness requirements - Collaborate with colleagues throughout the deliverables creation process
Position Requirements
Skills / Industry Qualifications Required:	Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in a scientific field such as engineering or physics; graduate degree is a plus - Two or more years of relevant industry or professional experience - Demonstrated interest in research topics related to energy-efficient technologies - Strong research, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills - Robust analytical abilities How to Apply: You can apply or contact us using the Apply Online Box below.
