We see many job openings in Pakistan everyday but still the unemployment rate is high and people are out of jobs in Lahore, jobs in Faisalabad, jobs in Karachi and even in jobs in Islamabad. Following are some good reasons which might be resulting in your unemployment.
Your resume is out of date and you don’t have the good enough credentials to attract recruiters. You are not doing enough networking; don’t underestimate the value of networking as potential people can help you get a good and stable job.
Internet is filled with job in Pakistan ads but it is not enough that you just reply to some of these ads and just get a job. If you are doing this, then surely it is not enough. Recruiters who have posted jobs on some of the big portals online, complained that they most of the time get useless resumes without any suitable qualifications, so if you are doing this then you are on the wrong track. Go for the jobs for which you are qualified and don’t make a fool of yourself.
You are not doing the interviews right, yes, it can affect whether you will be hired or not. Your appearance, etiquettes also matters a lot as how you behaved, your clothing, how much you are serious about the job. Younger generation has the craze for piercing and tattoos and these kinds of things turn off the recruiters and they can take it as you are not professional. It is also a fact that many companies of us don’t hire smokers, so if you have a habit of smoking then quit as it can be the reason that you are still unemployed.
Communication plays a vital role in any job in Pakistan so if you cannot communicate then there are great chances that you will not get employed. So it is important that if interviewers ask you some question, you answer it without mumbling and make yourself presented and add professionalism in your looks.
Over qualification and demand of high salaries can also be the reason of your unemployment. People who have 10+ years experience are not going to get job at entry level so don’t bother to apply as companies will not see as a potential candidate and your over qualification can be a hurdle for their progress.
People who demand huge pay rate and demand over necessarily benefits, they usually going to end up outside of the job because salaries are lower these days and everyone is tight these days so be reasonable.
Having no job can depress you but change your attitude and make your job searching a little more persistent and don’t let the unemployment over take your life. Don’t be angry and before you go for an interview, it is important to deal with your anger issues.
Change your bad attitude as it’s not going to take you anywhere and if interviewer comes across those candidates who generally have a bad attitude they usually wind up interview in just one minute.
There is always a reason when you are not getting a job so find it and more importantly overcome it.
