Workplace Flexibility: How To Ask Your Boss To Work Remotely

Every day you show up at your job in Pakistan and try to work hard and harder with each passing day but it is also a fact that you face many distractions at your office as co-workers stopping and talking to you, office politics, boss on the round to check the status of your project etc. you know that these things are becoming hurdle in your office productivity and you think that you will be doing much better and productive work at yourhome as it will save you some hassle as well as time because you don’t have to commute to office and You don’t have to face huge traffic jams. Sometimes you think to ask your boss that whether you can work from home but you did not ask that from him because you have already make up your mind that he will say No.

But here you are wrong my friend as many organizations and companies actually allow their employees to work from home as it gives them freedom to work and flexibility. But here are few things which you should keep in mind before barging into your boss’ office and demanding to work from home.

It will be best to take a slower approach and must do your research before you ask your boss to do your office work from home. Take a more analytical approach and see how many of the company’s employees are already working remotely as it will increase your chances to get permission.

There are many jobs in Pakistan and jobs in Lahore as well as jobs in Karachi and different cities which allow you to work remotely so if you want this flexibility then you must first start your search with these types of jobs which allows you to work remotely.

It will be best if you check and see which of your responsibilities can be done easily remotely. You should offer a schedule which will show that how you will cover your work load from home. If you have already done work from home in the past then it will be better to share that, and also mention that you already have a home office from which you can easily do your work and actually complete it successfully.

Well your boss may not agree with your terms so be prepared for that as maybe your boss offer you some options from which you have to choose. You can propose to work from home voluntarily on a trial basis so that you both can get use to it. Also you can offer that you will work for 2 3 days a week in office and rest from home. Make sure that you keep in touch with them and communication should not be suffered at any cost.

Workplace flexibility should be encouraged as it will add more work flexibility in our lives.
